Technical inspection of buildings (I.T.E.)
The Technical Inspections of residential buildings (ITE), regulated by decree 67/2015, of May 5 of the Generalitat de Catalunya, must be passed in accordance with the age of the building according to the following table:
Multi-family residential buildings:
Buildings between 1951 and 1960: until December 31, 2015
Buildings between 1961 and 1971: until December 31, 2016
Buildings from 1971: the year in which it reaches the 45 years of age
Single Family Home Buildings:
Prior to 1900 - Until December 31, 2016
Buildings between 1901 and 1930: until December 31, 2017
Buildings between 1931 and 1950: until December 31, 2018
Buildings between 1951 and 1960: until December 31, 2019
Buildings between 1961 and 1975: until December 31, 2020
From 1975: the year in which it reaches the 45 years of age
* Note: The buildings of single-family houses that have a certificate of occupancy valid at the time of reaching the deadlines set in this calendar do not have the obligation to submit the report of the technical inspection of the building until the date on which this certificate of habitability expires.
Once the Inspection has been completed, the building must obtain the Certificate of aptitude.
If the building has serious deficiencies, the necessary works must be done to correct it.
Once the works are completed, the Certificate of Aptitude must be processed.
The Certificate of Aptitude is valid for 10 years.
